Emotions, we live them, we suffer Saint Lucia Email List them sometimes. As a leader, they can be a real driving force for oneself, but also for driving the company. But you still have to know how to listen to them and understand the desires or frustrations they underlie. ➡ Jean-Sébastien’s questions to Olivier Olivier to Jean-Sébastien: “using your emotions to make sense” # 1 – Jean-Sébastien, can you present your activity? To lead, this word is rooted in the Latin “direct” which means “to put on line – to make go”, and it is the strength of the Leaders to “make go”
Yet It Is Often A “Taboo” Subject Among
For this, if logical arguments and example through action are essential, knowing how to rely on your emotions and those of your employees helps to “put them online” to act with efficiency and meaning. This is called emotional intelligence: it is the ability to recognize, use, understand and regulate one’s own emotions and to deal with those of others. The higher one climbs in the hierarchy, the more the importance of emotional intelligence increases; the higher the position, the less technical and intellectual skills and the more emotional competence matters – Daniel Goleman. Indeed, emotion is a driving force that we can consciously put at the service of our objectives. Relying on your emotions means allowing yourself to move forward with more desire and energy, in an ecological way, for yourself and for others.
We find, moreover, this meaning in the Latin root of this word “e – movere”: “e” means exterior “movere”: to move, to stir, to set in motion … # 3 – What are the most difficult emotions to control or which penalize the most a leader or his company? In reality, we don’t control our emotions, we can handle them. This regulation is at the service of our personal balance, of our relations with others, and guides, in an appropriate manner, our decisions and our behavior. Emotion does not in itself penalize a leader or his company. What can potentially be is the way he experiences it and uses it in the service of his needs and the situation. The emotion is neither positive nor negative, it is the thoughts and the behaviors resulting from these emotions which can be. An emotion is a signal, an essential information .
Why Do You Think It Is Important
It gives us an indication of what I am going through, of the need that is satisfied or not in me and that invites me to act. So the more I am able to feel, identify and use my emotions, the more levers I have to act on the situation. The challenge is to take responsibility for what I feel, what I experience in relation to my emotions. For example, if I let myself be overcome by anger in a given situation, thinking that it is my employee’s fault risks penalizing my attitude and my managerial behaviors (reproach, aggressiveness, guilt, etc.). Distinguishing between needs and means allows us to take responsibility for our behavior. The need is fundamental and concerns us personally.
There are many potential ways to respond to them. To wonder about what comes up against me in what is happening, what essential need is “trampled”, and know how to name it. So I become an actor again, I can act with lucidity and responsibility, a fundamental role of the leader. Paper boats # 4 – Yet it is often a “taboo” subject among bosses, why? In France, it is a taboo subject in the broad sense, unlike other cultures and countries! We are in a society called engineers where thought is erected in reason. I invite you to read Alain Damasio’s book, Descartes’ error . Often, when we talk about emotions, in France, it reminds us of loss of control, weakness, vulnerability and even dependence . And gives the feeling of a degraded image of oneself and of the other. Indeed, thought is what separates us from our animal state
